The college was inaugurated by Shri V S Achuthananthan, the former Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala on 29.09.2009 and presided by Smt. P K Sreemathy Teacher, former Minister for Health & Social Welfare Department Govt. of Kerala.

The college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nursing Council and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).

As per Govt. order GO (MS) 106/2017/ H&FWD dated 07.07.2017 SIMET College of Nursing Mundur was merged to SIMET College of Nursing Malampuzha, Palakkad.
