The college was inaugurated by Shri V S Achuthananthan, the former Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala on 29.09.2009 and presided by Smt. P K Sreemathy Teacher, former Minister for Health & Social Welfare Department Govt. of Kerala.The college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nursing Council and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). As per Govt. order GO (MS) 106/2017/ H&FWD dated 07.07.2017 SIMET College of Nursing Mundur was merged to SIMET College of Nursing Malampuzha, Palakkad.
